Let it be wild

The area just outside the ropes at the entrance to the Discovery Centre may look untidy to some, but to our wildlife it is a haven and a welcome place to retreat away from the surrounding car parks and roads. The growing conditions are challenging with sandy soil that quickly dries out, and some native plants such as sea beet wanting to dominate. Nature and the coastal conditions will always have the upper hand, not all our efforts will work but we will have fun trying and the rewards are worth it!
