The Friends of West Bay Discovery Centre is a registered charity (No. 1209623) formed in 2024 to help keep our much-loved Centre thriving. We raise funds to support new exhibitions, free community activities, and ongoing historical research — helping to share and celebrate West Bay’s rich heritage through changing displays and stories.

We’re also incredibly proud to share that West Bay Discovery Centre has received The King’s Award for Voluntary Service — the highest honour a local voluntary group can achieve in the UK, equivalent to an MBE. This prestigious award recognises organisations that go above and beyond in their community work. West Bay Discovery Centre was one of only two Dorset organisations to receive this award in 2024 — a true testament to our dedicated volunteers and supportive community,
