This website is run by West Bay Discovery Centre. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website and for it to be a useful tool for all.

What is web accessibility?

Accessibility and usability of our site. Our website aims to meet the principles and best practices of the WCAG 2.0 AAA guidelines. While we aim to comply with these guidelines, we recognise that web technology has changed since their creation, and a number of them are less applicable than at their time of publication. Our objective is to make our site accessible and usable to our visitors and we pay attention to our code and carry out extensive user testing to ensure this.

The Web Accessibility Initiative says that:

“Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the web, and that they can contribute to the web. Web accessibility also benefits others, including older people with changing abilities due to aging.

“Web accessibility encompasses all disabilities that affect access to the web, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.”

Upgrading your browsers

We would recommend upgrading your browser as far as your computer will allow. Later versions of browsers often have higher levels of security and better functions.
