Explore the beauty, history and wildlife of West Bay with our friendly and knowledgeable volunteer guides. Our walks are a wonderful way to discover the stories, scenery and surprises that make this place so special!
Walks take place on Thursday mornings starting in May and ending in October. We meet outside the Discovery Centre at 11am sharp.
Each walk lasts around 90 minutes, and the terrain is mostly easy.
💷 £5 per person, payable on the day (no advance booking required).

🚂 West Bay’s River and Railway
Step back in time as we follow the route of the old branch railway line from West Bay to the outskirts of Bridport, returning along the riverside.
Enjoy gentle scenery, a touch of local history, and plenty of wildlife along the way.
This walk is about 2 miles long and takes roughly 90 minutes, with one gentle slope to the crest of the beach.

Join our new monthly walk led by Stephen Griffith, a botanising traveller and former curator of Abbotsbury Tropical Gardens for over 30 years.
Discover the plants and wildlife that thrive around West Bay and learn more about the coastal environment we call home.
This walk is approximately 1 mile and lasts about 90 minutes, with mostly easy terrain and a short section on the beach.
