What is personal data?

Personal data is information that can be used to help identify an individual, such as name, address, phone number or email address.

How we communicate

We use an online service called Mailchimp to send emails to you telling you about news and events related to the BADT and its two community building projects, the Literary and Scientific Institute and the West Bay Discovery Centre. Mailchimp stores and handles all of the data we need for this.   Mailchimp is part of The EU-US data privacy shield agreement, and is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation – you can read more about the Mailchimp Terms of Use and Privacy Policy here:

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time and remove your data completely by following the unsubscribe link in every email, or contact us at and we will do it for you.

What information we collect using MailChimp

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The topics and subjects about which you wish to receive emails (such as the LSI)

You can view, update or remove the consent and preference information we hold about you at any time by clicking on the update your preferences link at the bottom of every email we send you.

How we use the information collected through Mailchimp

  • Send you emails on the topics and subjects about which you have told us you are interested
  • Track how many people opened each email so we know how relevant they were to the recipients
  • Track clicks on the links in our emails so we know what the recipients have opened/read

BADT uses this data solely to send you emails relevant to the topics and subjects you have told us you are interested in. BADT does not share the data with any other organisation or individual.
